Spooktacular POOKIES
These Paw cookies with peanut butter are the perfect trick for-a treat for your fur babies this Halloween. They’re all natural and sure to be a Spooktacular hit!
Ingredients:
2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 cup Rolled Oats (I prefer cooked steel cut oats)
1/4 cup Corn Meal
1/2 cup No Sugar Added or Organic Peanut Butter
2 Eggs
1 1/2 tablespoons Raw Honey
1-3 drops doTERRA Ginger Essential Oil
1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon (Special NOTE: USE GROUND CINNAMON ONLY—pets cannot digest Cinnamon essential oils)
1 cup Soup Broth (I use boullion)
Preheat you oven to 350 and prep your cookie sheets for non stick. I like to use fun little cookie cutters or molds, and since it’s Halloween, let’s use some SPOOKY molds.
In a large bowl, combine your dry ingredients (flour, oats, and meal). Stir in your peanut butter and honey. Add eggs one at at time until blended. When it becomes hard to mix using a spoon or similar utensil, simply knead dough by hand.
While kneading, slowly add your broth at about a tablespoon at a time. Keep adding the broth until your dough reaches the consistency where you are able to roll pieces into small balls without the dough sticking too much to your hands. There may be some sticking and you may not need to use all of the broth. You can roll out your dough and use a cookie cutter or simply roll into small balls or press the paw cookie dough into the molds.
Bake for 30 minutes or until hard. Allow Pookies to cool before icing.
Icing for Pookies–

3 teaspoons Raw Honey
2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
**OPTIONAL Food Coloring - a few drops at a time until desired color is achieved.
Combine all ingredients until fluffy. Spread on pookies. (Paw cookies)
